Yarn: Yarnspirations Bernat Baby Blanket in White
Amount of yarn needed for pillow depends on your gauge even though no gauge is required for this easy make.
I used 1.75 skeins of yarn (I am a loosey goosey)
Each skein was 10.5 oz / 300 g
220 yds/201m
Hook Size: 11.5 mm (P) (for tight crocheters) Or
10 mm (N) (for loose crocheters) (I used the 10)
Pillow Form: 20in x 20in (I purchased mine from Jysk)
Special Stitches used...
The 4DC Bobble Stitch (4DCBS: re-invented for this pattern) (double crochet into the stitch where you are going to make your bobble, but leave the final 2 loops on the hook). Yarn over, insert hook into same stitch, yarn over and pull through 2 of the loops on your hook, (3 loops on your hook), yarn over, insert hook into same stitch, yarn over and pull through 2 loops (4 loops on your hook), yarn over, insert hook into same stitch, yarn over and pull through the 6 loops on your hook. Assembly:
You will be crocheting Panel 1 to the bottom of the Front Panel (15 Bobbles across )
Crochet the sides together of Panel 1 to the sides of the Front Panel (there will be a shortage….this is normal…. We will need this area for Panel 2, in order to create an envelope effect in which to hold your pillow)
Crochet the top of Panel 2 to the Front Panel in the same manner (you will be overlapping a small area in which both back panels will over lap)
Weave in any loose ends.
Your completed pillow will have:
13 Bobble Rows down
15 Bobble Rows across
Your Heavenly Plush Pillow is now complete and ready to insert your pillow!
Hint: The easiest way to insert your pillow is to turn your pillow case inside out….place pillow insert in centre and work sides up and around your pillow.
