ABOUTcarrieannewithlove

Hello and welcome to CarrieAnneWithLove! My name is CarrieAnne and I am so thrilled to have you be a part of this experience. I have been crocheting for 40 plus years, but have recently found such a passion for what I can create. My Philosophy is “Do what you love and Love what you do” and that is exactly the place I am at on my journey.

I was born and raised in Hamilton, ON Canada (affectionately known as Steeltown, or “The Hammer”). I am a mother of 5 (3 of my own plus 2 stepchildren) committed to my wonderful loving Fire Captain. Included in this amazing tribe are 1 incredibly beautiful Golden Doodle Miss Ellie Mae, 1 orange tabby cat who is more than appropriately named Garfield, and 2 Siamese cats Lady Guinness and Mr. Gibbs (brother and sister from litters 1 year apart). Family is such an important part of my life, and when we all gather at the table for a meal you might wish you could be a fly on the wall to hear and see the antics and interactions.

I love to travel and although there are many places I would love to see in my own country as well as throughout the world, I find myself spending my vacations down south in the Dominican Republic, Cuba or Jamaica. The culture, the sand and the sun are everything I need (oh, and my man too!) to kick back, relax, and rejuvenate.

When it comes to crochet, it all started when I was little making small creations which I of course always gave to my mom. Over the years I spent more time working my craft and making blankets for friends and family. When I found a bin of half finished items during one of my moves, I realized the time had come to buckle down and find a niche for myself where I could bring beautiful desired items to any and all who wanted them. I continued with blankets and moved into pillows to add to home decor. Hats quickly followed given our climate and seasons (yes, we do get summer in Canada, and I live in a house, not an igloo). The creations seemed endless in my mind as I create new and exciting items. I realized that involving myself in the crochet community also opened up possibilities in sharing ideas, working together with groups to make a variety of beautiful creations, and giving me the confidence to begin to share through pattern writing some of my own wares.

There are things in life that I am quite passionate about that you will learn as my blog entries emerge. Thank you for joining me and may we grow, learn, and share together.
